When a power-hungry god recruits a man to kill for him, two young women seek to unmask the murderer and uncover the truth about his mission–though it soon becomes clear that doing so will cost them far more than they bargained for.
Echoes of the EtherStone is my latest book from Owl Talyn Press, available now. It is a low fantasy gothic horror story inspired by Jack the Ripper, following two young women from opposite ends of society who join forces to try and bring down the vicious killer stalking the streets of their city–and who uncover far deeper secrets than they ever expected. Hi, I’m Lucy A. McLaren and I’m a writer of fantasy stories that focus on the light of human connection in dark, oppressive societies.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the magic of storytelling, whether that be via books, video games, TV shows or films.
Fantasy has always been my genre of choice (though I do also love a good horror, psychological thriller or murder mystery). There is something inherently captivating about journeying into another world with a character—though I do find myself most drawn to fantasy stories, characters and worlds that aren’t so different from our own.
I am currently working on a dark fantasy trilogy called The Commune’s Curse. The first and second books in this series, Awakening and The Mad Man’s Hope are available now. You can learn more about this series by going to The Commune’s Curse tab.
I also enjoy writing short stories as they provide the opportunity to dip into new characters and settings without the commitment of a full-length novel. You can check these out via the Short Stories tab at the top of the page.
